Me Too

By

The Bergen County Pink-footed Goose, one of four or more individuals banging around New Jersey this winter. This was a “life bird” for me, and I saw it twice yesterday, once briefly in the early morning and then, in a more leisurely fashion, with Alison in the late afternoon. A pretty little goose, and well worth the fifteen-minute drive.

I remember when I saw my lifer Pink-footed Goose… it was in the plains of northern Iceland, where you’d expect to find them in the summer.

I saw it from the car as we were driving along the ring road, though. Somehow birds seen while travelling at 80 km/h aren’t as satisfying, I find. Not sure why that is.
