European Starling

One of the most beautiful birds in the world faces off with a Herring Gull over a piece of day-old bread, a scene repeated daily in northern New Jersey for 120 years now.

The gull always wins.

Starlings are awesome.. but I WAS a bit intimidated when 450 landed in my yard last week!

That’s a lot — but probably still better than 450 herring gulls.
