Desert Spring: Sprung

By Rick Wright

I’m at an age when it’s beautiful to wake up at all: but how much more into a Sonora Desert spring! The poppies are bursting, the White-winged Doves and Cactus Wrens singing, and the ground suddenly rustles with zebra-tails and whip-tails and spiny lizards.

Alison and I are going birding tomorrow, and expect there to be Lucy’s Warblers and Bell’s Vireos around. Love this time of year!
