A friend of mine just came back from Guatemala and was telling me about doing the same hike. I so need to get up there and see that red-horned mega (and other birds from the Guatemalan highlands). I figure if I start getting into better shape now, by the time I can do the trip I'll be able to run up those steps (or at least make it to the top).
