Ode on a Desert River

I don’t know what it is (yet), but this was one of the most striking damselflies we found on a recent excursion to Liz’s Grove on the lower San Pedro River. The focus is poor in my photograph, but not until I looked at the picture did I see how carefully the plant the bug is perched on had been encased in spider webs. Neat stuff.
