Cats Indoors!
February 26th, 2007 by Rick Wright
The more than 90 million feral housecats in this country wreak havoc on wildlife wherever they occur; the problem is becoming increasingly acute at Arizona sites such as the Gilbert Water Ranch, where the soft-hearted soft-headed dump kittens in horrific numbers.
Tucson Audubon has come up with some ingenious ways to raise public awareness of this problem.

It would have been great to have this up at Gilbert, but it was part of a volunteer celebration here in Tucson, at Reid Park (land of Lewis’s Woodpecker and Harris’s Hawk). There hasn’t been any pronounced reaction to it yet, to my surprise, but I very much hope that some picnickers and pin~ata fans went home with something to think about.
Thanks for writing, Patrick!
Hahaha, this is too much. I love it. Was this done at the ranch itself? What was the public’s reaction? We need to do something like this in NJ. I have a couple cats in my neighborhood that need a relocation.
