Poppe said something funny the other day:
“I don’t think you can count yourself a birder,” she said, “until you’ve exposed yourself to personal injury looking for birds. And advanced birders, they’re the ones with scars.”

hallelujah, I am finally a “Real Birder”.
And I thought that all that blood I shed along the birding path was because I was a bit uncoordinated, and inatentive while moving thruogh the jungle of cacti species that make up the landscape here.
If only I had known this earlier I might have had time to orderthe official uniform for my next outing.
Sadly, I am too late aware… hangs head in shame.
